Here is a list of immunizations that are required for all children.

1. HEPATITIS B – Hepatitis is a virus that causes liver damage. Parasites, viral infections, autoimmune illnesses, and other factors can all contribute to it. It is difficult to identify because there are usually no symptoms. This immunisation protects against the type B virus of hepatitis for the rest of one’s life. As a result, it is recommended for all youngsters. It is a fatal condition that wreaks havoc on the liver and can lead to liver cancer. It can be passed from mother to child by needles or tainted blood, sexual contact, or from a pregnant woman to her kid. The first injection is given two days after birth, the second two months later, and the third when the kid is six to eighteen months old.

2. HEPATITIS A – Like HAB, this virus causes no symptoms, yet it is a frequent kind of viral infection in children and teens. It is a contagious disease that spreads quickly through water, food, touching, eyes, nose, or mouth, and using the same toilet since the virus is present in the affected person’s faeces. To keep it from spreading, paediatricians recommend washing hands often. The two doses are given to a kid when he or she is between the ages of 12 and 20 months, with a gap of minimum of 6 months between them.

3. ORAL POLIO VACCINE –  Poliomyelitis, sometimes known as Polio, is a disorder in which the Poliovirus damages the nervous system, resulting in partial or complete paralysis in young children. Weak muscles, muscular aches, and weariness are early indications of this condition. It eventually leads to paralysis and, in some circumstances, death. Until 1990, this virus afflicted and paralysed around 500-1000 infants every year in India. Since then, the numbers have dropped dramatically, and a number of campaigns have been organised to raise public awareness about the Oral Poliovirus Vaccine (OPV), so that all children can be immunised. It is recommended for all children under the age of five.

4. BACILLUS CALMETTE GUERIN VACCINE – Infants are immunised against TB with Bacillus Calmette Guerin, also known as BCG. The bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) causes tuberculosis, which damages the lungs and causes coughing, tiredness, and fever in the early stages.

5. DIPHTHERIA, PERTUSSIS, TETANUS – This single vaccination protects against three diseases: diphtheria, pertussis, and tetanus. Diphtheria is a contagious disease spread through the air. Tetanus is a bacterial illness that is caused by toxins. Pertussis is a respiratory ailment that is also known as whooping cough. DPT is given to children at 1.5, 2.5, and 3.5 months of age.

6. MEASLES, MUMPS, RUBELLA VACCINE – MMR vaccination is recommended for your children to protect them from mumps, measles, and rubella. The two dosages are given to the kid at the ages of 9 months and 12-15 months. MMR is easily transmitted over the air.

7. VARICELLA (CHICKENPOX) – Chickenpox is a viral illness caused by the varicella-zoster virus, sometimes known as VZV. High temperature, sore throat, itching, red pimples loaded with fluid, and permanent scarring on the skin are the symptoms. This, too, is an airborne illness. The first dosage is given to children when they are one year old, and the second dose can be given after three weeks.
